Preaching from Old Testament narratives can be a daunting task. It is all too easy to miss Christ and the Gospel in the details of the narrative or, conversely, to leave the narrative in the name of focusing on Christ. In this conference session, biblical scholar John Woodhouse lays out a strategy for aligning the purposes of one’s sermon with the purposes of the Old Testament narrative, proclaiming Christ in such a way that all who hear will be profoundly affected by the Gospel’s power.
